THE STAR SPORE

THE STAR SPORE is a two sided horror story exploring the effects of a devastating alien entity on both the body and the consciousness of an unfortunate resident of Goldtown, Montana. This project took me around half a year to complete and takes inspiration from books like ‘Hellstar Remina’ and ‘Vermis’ as well as films like ‘The Thing’, ‘Nope’, ‘Lake Mungo’ and ‘Mad God’. This project is not as focussed or linear as my previous projects and I mainly tried to focus on creating smoother animation and more atmospheric scenes.

A strange golden insect crawls into a bedroom on a stifling summer night. As it invades the sleeping body, the walls begin to shift and pulse — and the nightmare begins.

Fishtopher

A multimedia animated short film about a man-fish or fish-man, we still aren't quite sure. Fishtopher, our titular new university student is confronted by a band looking for their lead singer to get them to join their new band, leading to a fallout with their overbearing mother.

Trolley Troubles

Oswald, the trolley conductor gets stopped in the tracks by a cow who refuses to move. He then faces a steep hill, which the trolley has trouble with. When it finally gets over the hill, the trolley speeds wildly out of control. Can Oswald's lucky rabbit's foot save him?

Giant Crush

A playful short film following the story of a mech operator and his new co-pilot who remotely operate their mech using DDR-style foot controls. While facing off against a kaiju, they learn they have a deeper connection.

The Reach

The year she turns ninety-five, Stella starts to see ghosts of her dead friends and loved ones, including her late husband Bill. They tell her to join them in crossing the Reach, an ice bridge that forms over the ocean between her home of Koati Island and the mainland in winter.

Louis I., King of the Sheep

When a crown rolled in front of his hooves, Louis, a sheep among other sheep, grabs it, puts it on and becomes king. From then on, he plays through everything that kings do to banish boredom and to demonstrate power. With a lot of humour, historical borrowings and a profound sense, the detailed stop-motion animation drives abuse of power to extremes in order to expose it.

After the Flower Wilted

Based on the novel ‘Wilted Flower’ by Nou Hach, the film unfolds a gripping tale of grief and desperate hope. When Noun, the mother, breaks off her daughter's engagement to a struggling suitor in favor of a wealthier match, tragedy ensues. As her daughter's heartbreak consumes her, illness tightens its grip, pushing Noun to turn to ancient rituals for salvation.

Round My Place follows a gentle yet slightly twisted northern bloke, called Richard Crimble, as he gives us a guided tour of his old run down apartment. To Richard it is more than just an old apartment though. It sparks his strange imagination, making him consider the place's past and how each little detail came to be.
