Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, better known as Pippa Bacca, was a 34 years old Italian artist. She crossed 11 countries involved in wars, hitchhiking with another Milanese artist, Silvia Moro, both wearing a wedding dress. This was a performance for peace, trust and hoping to prove that if you rely on others, you’ll receive good things only. After travelling many roads, the two artists decided to split for a while in Istanbul, planning to meet again in Byblos. Pippa left then, alone, and nobody heard from her again.

This remastered, rare, local production from the 80s is an unfiltered look into the mind and heart of the world-renowned folk artist Howard Finster. Walking and talking in his Paradise Garden, Finster gives insight into his visions, Faith, and artwork. He even sings and plays the banjo. Dr. George Pullen interviews Finster. And in this case, the word "interview" means that Dr. Pullen just lets Finster talk. And it's pure gold.

Documentary about the special friendship between the 72-year-old music machine collector Johann Bartisch and the 12-year-old farm boy Gerd from the village of Arnsgereuth. As a child, the Romanian Johann played "O sole mio" on the piano while his brother accompanied him on the violin. Even then, he was fascinated by the music machines that could be found at fairgrounds, in cinemas and on trains. As an adult, Johann began his passion for collecting in Bucharest, rescuing self-playing instruments from barns, cellars or even garbage dumps. With great attention to detail, Johann restores his found treasures in his 250-year-old schoolhouse in the village of Arnsgereuth.

Giri Chit

GIRI CHIT tells a tale of the subtle trace of irreconcilable worlds. A worker driving a mobile sweeper in hypnotic circles across an already immaculate surface. The high drama of cosplay aficionados clamoring to be seen. A cast of thousands toiling hundreds of feet above the street. Giri translates as ‘duty’ in Japanese, but the concept is in fact far more complicated. Giri is a sort of interpersonal political capital that informs careers, family relations, and much more. Its presence and flow is palpable in Japan, where this film was shot. A “giri chit” then may be a hypothetical voucher for this intangible flow (with a tip of the cap to Thomas Pynchon’s “Vineland”). In the middle of a rehearsal of a new musical, the theater director Hector Chesterfield dies and in order for the musical to premiere in a week, it is extremely important to find a new theater director. Hector's wife, Patricia, asks her old acquaintance, the incredibly strange and stupid adventurer Captain Spoling, to take over the theater. After much deliberation, he agrees. Then the great mafia boss Don Calzone shows up and claims ownership of the theater. Hector bet the theater in a game of poker, and lost. Now the two candidates, together with their lawyers and the others, must find Hector's will to see who he wanted as his successor. Amidst all this, love stories, madness and misunderstandings unfold - all while the theater's existence is in danger.

Los milagros de la Divina Pastora

Amábilis Cordero featured in his film Miracles of the Divine Shepherdess (1928) the image of the death in very precarious shape of a scrawny, anonymous actor who, wrapped in a sheet and armed with a scythe, walking in sandals rooftops Barquisimeto in what could be considered one of the first and rare surreal visions of Venezuelan film. As we know, our film has preferred rather turn towards the outside; to the marginal, criminal and sociological social fact avoiding exploring spaces of dreams and imagination. In such a witty and imaginative country like Venezuela no longer curious that the film lacks the imagination to accept that truth finds its best support in the fable: that reality always full of poetry.

The Chronicles of the Gray House

Hinrich, the son of a feudal German landowner, falls in love with the beautiful daughter of one of his father's serfs despite opposition from both families. But when he actually offers marriage to her, this is going too far. The return of his brother Detlev, with an unscrupulous aristocratic bride of his own and a rival claim to their father's estates, proves to be the trigger for tragedy.
